W dniach 21-31.10.2009r. w Serbii trwać będą Drużynowe Mistrzostwa Europy. Z pewnością będzie to bardzo ważne wydarzenie w świecie królewskiej gry. Polskę reprezentować będą następujący szachiści: Bartosz Soćko, Radosław Wojtaszek, Bartłomiej Macieja, Mateusz Bartel oraz Grzegorz Gajewski. Bez wątpienia większe szansę na końcowy sukces ma reprezentacja kobiet. Drużynę tworzą wymienione szachistki: Monika Soćko, Iweta Rajlich, Jolanta Zawadzka, Joanna Dworakowska oraz Joanna Majdan.
